Frequently Asked Questions

Throughout the hot and cold seasons, composite shingles have a tendency to expand and contract. This process can cause small gaps to form and the adhesive of the silicon to deteriorate. These symptoms are basic wear and tear issues that develop gradually over a long period of time. It’s never a bad idea to get your roof inspected for possible damages before it’s too late!

Under obvious extreme conditions, you should definitely contact your insurance company to report a claim. However, for minor leaks or damages that can cost less than your deductible, we urge you to consider using your insurance company to assist you with larger repair issues such as a roof replacement. Someone from our team can conduct a free inspection at your convenience to provide you with the best course of action as well as provide you with insurance assistance.

For wind and hail claims, your insurance company can not drop you or raise your premium due to you placing a new claim. In cases of massive catastrophe, the cost of an insurance company’s national average may raise a small amount in order to make up for the loss to stay in business.

Depending on your insurance adjusters’ workload, weather conditions, and other factors, it can take approximately 5 to 10 business days for your insurance company to process the claim for you.

Under city ordinance, we can begin the tear-off process no earlier than 7 am and begin heavy machinery no earlier than 8 am. Typically, a re-roof of just one layer of shingles on a one-story house will only take just one day! Facing unexpected additional construction, large roof replacement projects, or a number of other scenarios, will take no more than just two full days for a full roof replacement including a thorough clean-up. All work is dependent upon weather conditions.

Under any circumstances, it is absolutely not a wise decision to “over lay” or install multiple layers. Installing two or three layers can put up to 720lbs per 100sq ft of additional weight on your roof! This can cause a tremendous amount of permanent cosmetic damage such as bowing effects in your decking sheets. Multiple layers can also put excessive weight on your rafters that can cause them to split and even possibly crack or even break.

Increasing the amount of proper ventilation in your attic can significantly reduce your utility bill, and prolong the life span of your shingles.
